Food and Nutrition

The Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, in conjunction with Morrison Healthcare Foodservice, is committed to providing you with meals to assure your satisfaction and nutritional well-being. Specialized menus are available to meet your personal, medical and nutritional needs. Juices, other drinks, and snacks are provided during the day and evening, carefully prepared by our food and nutrition staff. Guest trays are available for patient visitors who would like to eat with you during patient meal times.

For your convenience the cafeteria is open from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM

Television

The Hospital is pleased to offer color cable television free of charge to all patients. Also available is the C.A.R.E. Channel providing soothing instrumental music together with appropriate images of nature that can help reduce stress and anxiety.

Telephone

Personal outgoing telephone service is available 24 hours a day for all of our patients. Family and close friends may dial your room directly room number between 7:00 am and 9:00 pm Long distance calls must be charged to your home phone, credit card or made collect.

Wireless Internet

Free wireless internet connection is available free of charge in hospital rooms and main building waiting rooms.

TLC Tender Loving Care Program

Trained volunteers are available to give hand and foot massages to patients free of charge.  Please inquire with your caregiver for information or to request a massage.

Spiritual Care Services

CHH is dedicated to not only the health but also the spiritual needs of its patients. A Spiritual Care Coordinator oversees a group of chaplains and volunteers who provide pastoral care to patients, friends and families. Chaplains work collaboratively with caregivers to counsel and integrate physical, emotional and spiritual health needs of all faith orientations.

Language Interpretation

If a patient requires an interpreter, professional assistance is available for foreign and sign language needs. Please ask your caregiver.

Organ Donation

If a patient meets the criteria for organ or tissue donation, the option of donation is discussed with the patient’s next of kin.
