Nutritionists at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital are Registered Dietitians, licensed by the State of Connecticut, and registered by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
The registered dietitians are trained to provide a comprehensive nutrition services assessment, which includes planning and implementing nutrition service interventions using evidence-based nutrition practice guidelines, and monitoring and evaluating the individual’s progress.
Registered dietitians at CHH offer nutrition services like counseling, for a variety of health conditions, including:

According to IOM, “the registered dietitian is currently the single identifiable group of health-care professionals with standardized education, clinical training, continuing education and national credentialing requirements necessary to be directly reimbursed as a provider of nutrition therapy.”
Appointments
To schedule a nutritional service appointment with a registered dietitian, a physician referral is required. The nutrition service is covered by many insurance companies.
